Meet Carlos Portu, M.D

Dr. Portu, M.D. is an internal medicine Specialist and served Naples and Marco Island since 2009 and is also fluent in English and Spanish.

Dr. Portu has called South Florida home all of his life. He was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale and went to college and medical school in Miami. His family has vacationed on Marco Island since he was a toddler, so it was only natural when he graduated from medical school that he would start practicing in the Naples/Marco Island area.

A NOTE FROM DR. PORTU

I decided very early in life that I wanted to be a doctor, and I have found practicing medicine more rewarding that I could have imagined! I love the relationships that develop between my patients and myself, and many of my patients feel like extended family.

It brings me tremendous satisfaction to help my patients with their healthcare needs. It is so rewarding to listen to a problem and work together to find the best treatment plan. The things I have learned from my patients and the relationships we’ve built over the years are what make my job amazing!

I surround myself with an amazing Team and we strive to learn every day. I enjoy new and difficult cases that involve continued learning, communication with patients and colleagues, developing relationships, and hard work.

I am married to the love of my life, Jenny, and we have four beautiful children In my free time, I love camping, cooking for family, bee keeping, and farming. As long as I am spending time with my family, all is right in my world.

Melissa McNeil, FNP-C,
APRN, MSN

Melissa is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has a special interest in health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, women’s health, and cardiology, and enjoys caring for patients throughout all ages of the lifespan.

She completed her undergraduate studies at Florida Southwestern State University (formerly Edison State College) and her master’s degree at South University, Savannah Georgia.

She and her husband are full-time residents of Naples.
